"Thank you for waiting for us yesterday...and looking after our new dog and all the others. The dog seems to be very well-mannered, house-broken, sweet and comfortable with us and in her new home. We've not yet decided on a name. She has an appointment at the vet...and we hope she's spayed next week after bonding a bit more with us." Take care, RS and HS (Santa Fe)

November 2007
I recently took my dog (Kima) to get spayed on Nov. 6 2007. She is doing well. We were not sure we wanted to do the surgery because of the money. Thanks to the APAS that helped us afford the services. This made us go ahead and do the surgery for Kima. We decided that we did not want any puppies. I'm writing this letter to let you know my dog is doing good and is very frisky. Thank you, JC

"APAS - Wanted to say thank you for your financial help for Sapphie's spay.
She is just the sweetest little thing; very smart, talkative, affectionate,
playful, curious, mischieveous, and a mama's girl. She loves her kitty food
and her toys, especially her pop-up hat and her fishing rod. Thanks again for
what you do, both Sappie's life and mine are enriched now that we have each
other!" Sincerely, AR

"I would like to say "thank you" to APAS for their generosity in paying
one-half of the fee required to the current dog training class. Not only will
Nixie (my shelter dog) and I benefit but the dogs I walk (as a volunteer at
the shelter) may benefit with better manners." Thanks, BS

"Dear APAS - Thank you for helping me afford the service of neutering for
Patch and Fatcat. They have both healed up fine and are back to their old
selves." Thanks, JJ

Jesuscito was adopted from the Socorro Animal Shelter in December 2006.
Her new owners write - "To Dorothy and others at APAS - Jesuscito is
not too big but is a wonderful friend for us; he is funny, a bit skittish and
great company. He is bigger than a bread box if you are thinking
tall-wise. He isn't neutered yet but the vet here wanted us to wait
until March. Everyday we are grateful Jesus wasn't put to sleep and
thank heaven for Dorothy's faith in that tiny little puppy. Sincerely,
MBC

"Also, David Derringer found his dog, "Teddy Bear," lost on the east side of the river by Escondida five days ago and found it at the shelter. Great job shelter people and the people finding the dogs!"

Regarding the APAS education program that brings "Kind News" newsletters to students, teacher Sandra Chavez says:
"Thank you for adopting our first grade class. We love the fun information, puzzles and games. The October issue really helped my class understand just how important it is to be responsible for our actions, homes, pets, and at school. I think this is a lesson they will carry with them always. Again, thank you."
