Matrimony

Marrage in the Catholic Church is not just a simple legal act between bride and groom. Marrage is a sacrament whereby a Bride and Groom call upon God in the presence of the Catholic Community to witness and consecrate their love for each other.

Arrangements for the Wedding must be made at least four to six months prior to the wedding day.

Newly issued copies of baptismal certificates must be provided to the Priest or Deacon during the marrage preparation period. The Catholic Church recognizes and accepts the baptismal certificates of many Christian and Orthodox Churches.

It is customary to offer a donation to the Church for the wedding ceremony. A fee for registered active parishioners of $200 is the suggested amount to offset expenses. Non parishioners are welcomed and require a $250 non-refundable deposit.

Selecting your wedding date is very important. A wedding cannot be performed on Sundays, Holy Days or during the Lenten Season.

Obtain a copy of "Guidelines for the Preparation & Celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony" in the Church Office for further information.
